Chor Minor

Hi everyone! 🤗 Today our second day of practice and we went to the Chor Minor. Chor Minor (Char Minar Uzbek: Chor minor), alternatively known as the Madrasah of Khalif Niyaz-kul, is a historic gatehouse for a now-destroyed madrasa in the historic city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan. It is located in a lane northeast of the Lyab-i Hauz complex. It is protected as a cultural heritage monument, and also it is a part of the World Heritage Site Historic Centre of Bukhara.[1] In Persian, the name of the monument means "four minarets", referring to the building's four towers.


The structure was built by Khalif Niyaz-kul, a wealthy Bukharan of Turkmen origin in 1807 under the rule of the Manghit dynasty.

                                   The Blacksmith History Forge Museum is a short walk north of the Toqi Telpak Furushon Bazaar on Khakikat Street. The museum is located in the Kulyuta karavansarai which was built in the 16th century. Admission is free, and it is a rare treat to see a working blacksmith. Photos/Videos can be taken and you can stroll through the workshop to view finished goods and the tools of the blacksmith. The most impressive area is the urn shaped hearth with white handles, which had a fire inside.                                              The blacksmith was working on a knife, and using his hammer to straighten it on the anvil. The sound of the hammer on the anvil and the smoky atmosphere made the shop feel as if it was transported back into ancient times. There...

Toqi Telpak Furushon

       The  Toqi Telpak Furushon  (Uzbek:   Toqi Telpakfurushon ) is a bazaar located in Bukhara , which forms part of its historic centre. The Toqi Telpak Furushon was built between 1570 and 1571.  Books were originally offered there, which is why the bazaar was also called Toqi Kitob. Gradually, the bookstalls were replaced by workshops and shops of the hat sellers. Turbans, fur hats and small caps embroidered with gold and silk thread or glass beads were made there and offered for sale. Although these goods can still be found there, carpets, jewellery, knives, musical instruments and other travel souvenirs are also sold. Toki telpakfurushon (Persian telpakfurush mountain) is an architectural monument in Bukhara (16a). A domed building for the manufacture and sale of headwear. Turki Jandi

 Jandi Turki Mausoleum is situated on Namozgoh Street, in the old city section of Bukhara, Uzbekistan.It is associated with one of the famous imams from Bukhara's history in the middle centuries, Turki Jandi. There is said to be a tombstone in the mausoleum located in the southern part of Bukhara.This mausoleum has been listed in the national registry of intangible cultural heritage sites in Uzbekistan.
